I think he had to pay Rick a ransom of a few beers but here they are, photos from Christmas Eve through New Years Eve. AT LONG LAST!

For my birthday I am getting...
A Val! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, loyal blog readers, I am getting my very own Valerie for my birthday. She is flying in from DC on Thursday Apr. 24 and will be here for my birthday weekend. Is it possible that I could be more excited? I think not. Ross is eve a little excited I think (don't quote me on that though). He's planning on taking the Friday and Saturday that she's here off to spend with us. He's succumbed to his role as DD as I will have one of my very best friends to play with for three days and cannot be expected to shy away from margaritas. They are after all part of the true Austin experience and I am determined to give Val nothing but the best most true first taste of ATX.
Other and sooner visitors though are Grandma and Mom who are coming up for this weekend. It will be a short visit, Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon but I am very excited to see them, especially Grandma. She's never seen where I live so I want her to check the place out. Saturday we're going to the Bob Bullock history museum because Grandma, like me, is a big history nerd. Then we'll have dinner at Threadgills, per suggestion of Ross's mommmy. Unfortunately Ross won't be able to join us for these things as he'll have to work probably until eight. But maybe if we do something into the evening hours he can meet up with us then. Either way all four of us will be able to grab brunch together before he has to work Sunday and before Grandma and Mom head back to Houston.
Grandmas and Moms are definitely the theme for the weekend as we'll be challenging his Mom and Gramma to spades Sunday night. We beat them last week and are looking to repeat.
How do I live with all this excitement in my life you say? Oh it is tough trust me.
Oh and one more item of extreme excitement, Ross and I are planning a trip to the Bahamas! So if you have any suggestions for hotels, activities, restaurants, shows, beaches or really just anything, I shall be accepting them for the next many months (said vacation is planned for September, post our move and post summer when families fill the Caribbean).

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Cookies Make Austin Woman Instant Celebrity
Well at least to myself.
I was on News 8 a few times today as well as on FOX 7 at 9 p.m. all in the name of cookie sales. Austin, I hope you were watching because you need to know when cookie sales begin. And I hope you saw the clip you find to be most flattering of me. (A little vanity, so sue me.)
As soon as I find them online, I'll post links. Mostly for Mommy dearest as I know she wants to see her little girl, local television star.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Local Girl Scouts Pilot Online Cookie Locator for 2008 Sales
Sales in Central Texas Begin January 19
Austin, Texas, January 9—In addition to being brought to patrons via traditional door-to-door residential sales, Girl Scout cookies can now be found by hungry consumers through an online booth locator. The Girl Scouts of Central Texas, which begins selling cookies on Saturday, January 19 at 9 a.m., is one of 16 councilsnationwide piloting the online locator this year.
Every year, service units and troops establish cookie booths in front of local businesses to bolster their sales. To aid the girls and their patrons, ABC Bakers, the official cookie baker for the Central Texas council, is working with the Girl Scouts of Central Texas to develop an online booth locator.
“Our council is excited and honored to pilot the booth locator for ABC,” says Faith Brown, Product Sales Director for the Girl Scouts of Central Texas. “We were chosen for our outstanding sales history as well as our innovative reputation and we’re very proud of that.”
Potential patrons can locate a cookie booth by following the link on the Girl Scouts of Central Texas home page, www.gsctx.org, and then searching by their zip code. The online locator will be available Friday, January 18, 2008, the day before sales begin.
“The online booth locator has the potential to significantly increase our sales and therefore increase and improve the programs we are able to offer girls,” says Etta Moore, CEO for the Girl Scouts of Central Texas. “The online locator is a smart business move, for both the cookie selling program and for our primary purpose: serving Central Texas girls.”
Girl Scout cookies can be purchased at a booth or from your local Girl Scout troop or member for $3.50 per box from January 19 to February 22, 2008. Proceeds directly benefit the Girl Scouts of Central Texas by providing funds for programs, financial aid, facilities, camps and more.
For more information on the Girl Scout Cookie Sale Program or the online booth locator, visit www.gsctx.org or contact the Girl Scouts of Central Texas headquarters at (800) 733-0011.

A life so rich
Well still no photos as I have not been able to be in the same place as Rick or Shannon yet. One day though! One day!
But very many wonderful things are happening and you my poor blog reader, know none of it. Thus I shall inform you.
On Wednesday Ross began a new job at Mattress Firm where he is training for a management position. He's been assigned to their store at MoPac and Braker which is all of 15 minutes from my apartment. The hours are a little crummy but the experience and salary are both excellent. He's excited, I'm excited. There is lots of excitement!
The location of his job is also exciting because we're planning on moving in together in June (or end of May, sometime in that time frame) and his store is near where we want to move. We are definitely staying north of downtown but probably not quite as far north as I am currently. Maybe to the MoPac and Far West area. Apartment suggestions? We'll take them! I think we want a lot for what we are willing to pay, but if anyone knows of a two bedroom with a garden bath tub, washer/dryer connections, and a large kitchen in a gated community for under $900 please, pull us into the loop.
With the move and the new job also means we're getting a new bed and if I have anything to say about it, a bedroom set. This of course means I play on Crate n Barrel dot come on occasion to see what pretty things I can get. I am quite in love with my turquoise curtains so would like to match them. Currently, I am in love with this comforter set, as if you care but at least it will add a pretty picture to this entry.
Also, I think we're getting dogs when we move. Probably. Their names shall be Sully and Molly. Molly will be mine. A little Molly dog! Just for me!
What else? Oh well on Thursday Ross and I are going to see the man, Mr. George Strait at the Frank Erwin Center. We just found out yesterday that we're going and it is because the Girl Scouts is a wonderful place to work. Our bank, Wells Fargo, invited someone from our office to be their guest at the concert, in their suite. My CEO had another obligation and since I looked like the most excited staffer, she said I could go in her stead. Then the lady from the bank, my new bestest friend, Anna, said it was 2 tickets, 1 for me and 1 for a guest. And my glorious CEO said I should feel free to bring Ross instead of finding a co-worker to go with me. SOOOO Ross and I are going to see George for free in a suite with food and drinks included.
Haila comes back to work in just one week and I cannot wait. I am more than happy to give her work back to her, such as the December monthly report which I am saving especially for her.
AJ and Joe have begun to plan their shin-dig of a wedding. I believe the colors are green brown and pink, mostly green with a few pink and brown accents. Val is a bridesmaid with me! And according to the conversation I had with her yesterday, I believe we will be wearing green. Oh bring on the swatches! I can't wait to look!
Ross and I made out like bandits over the holidays. He got me a beautiful earring and bracelet set from James Avery. Here you can have a peek. The bracelet is perfect as I can wear it and still type all day at work without it bothering me. Not something you always think about when buying pretty things but very important in the scope of everyday wear. I gave him a fancy-schmancy electric shaver which makes him baby butt smooth and makes me very happy. We got our first gifts as a couple, BBQ sauce from my parents and a board game from his sister. A very good holiday if I do say so myself.
OK to thawing the chicken, munching on rice cakes and watching football until Ross gets home!
Cheerio

Aloha January
The holidays and 2007 are over. I have pictures from the last week or so of it but my camera got left at Rick's last night during the New Years festivities. When Ross gets here with it, then we shall have Dec. 24-31 2007 in pictures.
